Ubuntu 9.10 Help (HP mini 2133)

Post icon  Posted 29 October 2009 - 04:15 PM

Ok, so I just installed Ubuntu 9.10 on my netbook (HP mini 2133), and there I have no internet. The reason behind this is my network drive is not being read. Any ideas on how to get the drivers read. I was told to install something called ndiswrapper, but I have no internet. I have another pc with Internet and a jumpdrive (2gb). Please lend me some advice.

Thanks in advance.

download the .deb debian package for it, stick it on your flash drive, move it to your linux computer and install. Best way I can think of.

i would first check to see if there is a "restricted" driver already installed. Mine broadcom was. You can check by clicking system > administration > drivers. See if it has one in there and then turn it on. You may need to reboot for it to come on. Keep in mind it isn't an open source driver, so if you have a problem with that, you may want to try the NDIS route....
