Moving this to Web Development. You might get better responses there than in the Javascript forum.

The first things you should learn are HTML and CSS. HTML is a markup system that browsers use to interpret content, and CSS is the rules that you can apply to style the html tags.

Learn more here:
W3Schools XHTML
W3Schools CSS

Once you understand html and css you should move onto actual programming with Javascript, then start to look at a server-side language to make your pages properly dynamic. There are forums on DIC for each step :^:

I first learned it by reading a book called "HTML for Dummies." You can find these books at your library. I prefer reading things in my hand, but you can also learn from the internet. I learned from these two sites: w3schools.com and tizag.com.

In order to make a website, you will need a good text editor. I use Notepad++. And for the browser, install Internet Explorer, Firefox (with firebug extension), Opera, and Safari. Testing on all browsers is necessary for websites.

Good luck with Web Development

I learned everything from that book too! I recommend it for anyone that wants to learn HTML, and likes books written in plain english :D

http://www.htmlgoodies.com/

most of the stuff from the book is online, plus he gives tutorials on HTML, CSS, Javascript, ASP, PHP, and more :)

Also, google 'HTML tutorial', and you'll find plenty of resources :D

I would suggest the tutorials section here on DIC, and also using tizag.com. Just save everything to your computer and view it through a web browser - others won't be able to see it, but that is probably okay when starting out. If you want people to be able to view what you are working on then I suggest ou get a basic free web host like geocities.com (if you have a yahoo account). That way you don't have to worry about all the stuff, and while there are ads there aren't a ton, so that works out nicely.

Hi Vikashk,

At first you have to learn HTML and Javascript languages and then try to learn C Program which is the very basic language which you have to be well thorough enough to learn other web Programming languages like C#,.NET etc.,

ALL the BEST!!!

Web Development services
