Some of these prices are rediculous. I got my Audig 2 ZS for $49.99

that's not an audigy 2 zs card, it's the new x-fi

great, but it doesn't utalize the full memory bus speed of that motherboard (ddr2 800). they are backwards compatible but then those extra serial lines would get lonely :( not only is the memory i posted backed by corsair, but it can handle slightly higher voltages for overclocking.

And you can certainly find the video card for cheaper.

no doubt, but i can assure you dell's video card doesn't cost $600, just so you can get an idea of cost:performance. even if you ended up buying a graphics card that was $200-300 cheaper, you would still have a nice card.

when it comes to computers, you really shouldn't be stingy with the prices. have an idea of what you want but don't try to save that $30 by buying some generic brand part. you most definately pay for what you get in electronics. i see lots of people buying those $20 power supplies and $60 cases and the power supplies die the next day and the cases fall apart whenever they sneeze.

I completly agree there.

One of my friends build a computer about 2 months ago, he really got the cheapest stuff out there, it made a quite good PC but a few weeks ago his processor, mother board and VGA all died. His powersupply seemed to have caused the problem.

But i wouldn't go out there and buy a the most expensive video card.
