Moved to site feedback and questions.

Now, as for the badge. I am pretty sure it is given out via cron job as soon as you contribute your first snippet or tutorial to the site. That being said, you are correct in thinking you should have it. However, there are also issues with the DIC++ subscriptions that overwrite people's normal badges every once and a while. In that case you can PM an admin about it and they will sort it out (or start a thread like this).

Hope that makes sense.

Instead of creating a new topic for this I will simply post here. Has there been any change to the number of snippets or tutorials that need to be submitted for a Contributor badge? I am not all too familiar with the badge system, and after looking around the site noticed you only need one submission of a tutorial/snippet. Is there a post I missed that explains how the system works?

On the topic of badges, how long after I submit a tutorial or snippet should I expect to see the badge? I am in no rush, but was just curious if I had met the requirements.

It really depends on what the tutorial or snippet is about and what language you used. If it's a common C# or Java and a fairly straight forward tutorial or snippet, it shouldn't take long. If it's in something like LISP and it's a fairly involved tutorial or snippet, it could take a little while.

All tutorials and snippets have to be approved by mods/admins. This is to ensure that the tutorial or snippet was not copied from another site, and to make sure the tutorial or snippet is correct.

It was a Linked List snippet written in C++. Like I said, I am not too worried about it but only wanted to see if the requirements were still the same. Thank you for the response.

It used to take me about 7-10 days to get my tutorials approved, but then I started schmoozing the mods. ;) Now it takes 7-10 mins. XD (and by schmooze I mean pestur them on twitter until they do it lol) But don't be surprised if it takes almost 2 weeks. If it's denied, they'll pm you and let you know. You get an author badge after 4 tutorial submissions. Idk about snippets, as I never really submit those, and anything higher is chosen by staff.
