Alright, i've got a cold metal scheme going on with the toxic green and the manufactured blue going on. What about this background to start from?

It is a awesome banner don't get me wrong. But too much gradient. Yes there can be gradient, but not too much. That is a nice banner though.

I would say the gradient is fine if you do some color dodging with an actual image. One of the latest things is doing that with abstract anime type backgrounds. I'm not a fan of anime but that's what I did with my signature.

I'm not sure, but I did add some images including the original subject from my current footer.

How does this look?

Work out the colors and the goal, but that came out like I thought it would. Work on a little larger scale so I can do some real critiques.

I just optimized one of my old Wired logos.

I'm so poor when it comes to making figures in PS just like the crystal spike technique and doing logos.....

I did something, I tried the pen tool and use the default brush in PS and I make myself a scanline (my favorite)

not my best work :(

I went back to the toxic green then, and changed some other colors to agree with each other I hope.

Making it bigger seems to make the image look bizarre but here it is, (see attached image):

edit: I'll just repeat this... start on a pretty large resolution folks because you can always scale down with 100% prettiness, but you cannot scale up.

Wolf, the gray still ain't working and it looks like you tried to hard to get an effect there so you whipped up some gradient so just get rid of it. If you want that old school gameboy look to it, then it isn't bad but that's not my style so I don't want to get into critiquing it too much because I'll end up just insulting the style or genre of art. The only other problem is the So What if I am a Wolf? text. I'm not here to make fun of people's moddos (:P) so I won't but do something with the text or make it smaller and put it in the corner or make it spiffy just do something with it. I would also do something about the font Wolf Coder in the top right.

Lilygrace, I don't know how well the scanlines will look on a large scale but at the one you presented it doesn't look all that bad. I'm not a total fan of your main font's alignment, but in general the logo doesn't have any problems and is something I would expect to see as an advertisement for a firm. Personally, I would rotate one of the sparkles on the 'i' to make it not look identical, but overall you are on the right track.

Wolf, check out special text effects you can do using online tutorials or even with playing around with blending layer settings and filters. They can really spice up a logo. I'm personally not into them a lot but I just whipped something up so you can see how it might interact with certain backgrounds, etc.

Im also liking this idea. Im actually pritty good with graphics. But I dont use photoshop. Never got used to it. I use Macromedia(Adobe) Fireworks. But I would like to eventually get used to photoshop. Just because its like the standard.

Alright guys, the idea is to make a fake site for this company, Centric Studios. Read the first post. I'm a bit busy now - but I"m going to split the threads later and start a "project only" thread. Continue on.
