Time to get feedback from tutorials and snippets

Posted 21 November 2009 - 01:23 PM

How many tutorials and snippets do you usually receive in a month?
I'm asking this, because it take so long to get a feedback if it was approved or not and if there's something to change.

You should ask to more moderators to take a look and analyze the tutorials and snippets. It would be better for everyone.

There are only so many moderators to go around... And Dream.In.Code is in their spare time, so sometimes they do go rather slowly but that is ok!

@tivrfoa: We are a community with more than 300,000 members, think about how many submissions we get on a monthly basis (in the thousands), and each of them (both tutorials and snippets) have to be checked that:
  • They function as advertised
  • They're written with the best practices for that language
  • That they're not copied from a different site

And when you consider the wide range of languages we support, not each of us is an expert in every language, so they have to be checked over by the team member(s) that are experts in that language, and considering there is but a small number of us Moderators and Admins it can take some time to get to them all.

A little patience is in order here, as pointed out none of us are paid, we all volunteer our time to the community, and considering we also have outside responsibilities (school, work, families, etc) we just cannot get to everything as soon as they're submitted :)

You should appoint some members who have moderation powers for just snippet approval as to relieve some of the stress on full-blown moderators.

On Osu! they have members who aren't really moderators, but they do have submission approval powers and are there just to help speed up quality control.
