whenever he tries to play a game. it sometimes works and sometimes his pc
randomly restarts.
Does anyone have any ideas?
My friend is itching to try out new computer.
Also his CPU and GPU at idle are both +50 degrees celsius.
Apparently this happens at home but when he took it to pc shop it worked fine
(however he has tried it much more at home and only twice at pc shop, could just be luck?)

anyone know whats wrong?

Thanks

sounds a bit hot... my desktop is usually running low 40 Celsius, and it is older, and air cooled.... have you looked at the cooling setup? I had that problem with my desktop before, and I was not cooling my CPU right, it wouldn't make it past booting the OS...

Sounds like he's overheating (I just went through the same thing with an MSI NVIDIA GTS 250). Tell him to make sure the fan(s) on the video card are running at 100% (Riva Tuner can help with this)

lol. Yeah, I just read your thread on that. :P I had the same problem with overheating. I had built my system myself, and turns out the problem was that my fan in the back of my case was blowing in instead of out. :P turned it around to blow out, and it made a big difference.
