Windows XP Home Themes

Posted 11 January 2006 - 09:10 AM

yep.
ok i click the appearance tab , and see only two themes, and i dont want windows classic themes..

how do i even change to any theme i want to ? like the colour of the taskbar etc etc.

this requirement isnt essential but i would certainly not stick with JUST two themes (Blue and Silver (hate olive colour))

I'm not sure how much it costs...I'm a little more concerned that you paid for Ubuntu...it is free.

You can use 'uxtheme.dll' patch for latest Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) to enable 3rd party theme usage without paying for StyleXP.

I have a whole stack of Ubuntu disks sittin here, they will ship them across the globe, Free.

StyleXP is the way to go, theres Windows blinds and a number of others but IMO their bloated memory hogs, styleXP is pretty sleek and small.

Theres a 30 day trial, it doesnt cost that much.

uxtheme.dll does the same thing as stylexp just thru the windows ui and it uses less system resources. neowin has a great patcher for it that works with all the service packs. http://www.neowin.ne...howtopic=140707
