is xml search engine friendly?

Posted 17 January 2006 - 02:52 AM

i've been reading about how search engines read html files.

also how important title tags are.

my question is, is it better/easier for search engines to see an html file or an xml file?

the xml file doesn't have title body a or meta tags, does this mean that it cannot rank higher than an html equivalent page?

just a general wondering of how SEO works with xml files.

i'm not looking for any SEO gimmicks or tricks, i just want to know if xml will be detrimental.
