hi well i was having a look at Perl and Python forum and i saw that they are too complicated. Why? Because for me Perl and Python are different so they should be seperated. I just want to say this. There'r too many Python subjects to discuss but hey when i go through the Python forum i always see too much Perl thingie. That's not good for Python programmers.

Those are valid points...I believe the decision to group them together originally was made due to the relatively (compared by volume to the other languages) small number of questions being asked for each one.

A similar decision had been made with regards to the .NET languages (although they work off the same framework, so they have more in common).

I would think that the decision could be revisted should the volumes indicate the need for separate forums.

There are actually several programming sites that group Perl and Python together, usually for the same reason we do... lack of activity. If there was steady traffic for both languages, I would be happy to seperate and move the posts in to the appropriate forums. But until then, I don't want to have an empty forum. We are trying out this concept with the Ruby forum.
