Except the concept of exploding chewing gum is possible while something like x-ray vision is absurd.
And I don't think you mean fantastic, I think you me fanatic. And Ukraine is not Russia. Just because it's an Eastern Block country doesn't mean that it's Russian. Your post makes no sense by the way, thought I'd inform you.

You tell me I identify the concept as being something that is absurd, then tell me I'm using the wrong word?

I'm sure he could have dipped it into potassium, but that'd be really careless, even if both are acidic.
Sorry, I'm new here, I thought I was going to be cool and try to explain "whatever" place as containing whatever.ukraine, and whatever.russia, and the rest of the block area. I guess I should avoid mixing programming concepts in this part of the site?

Ok, I think you missed something. I'll try to put this in a way that's more clear:
1. Exploding Chewing Gum = Possible
2. X-Ray Vision and Spaceships landing in Russia != Possible
3. Fantastic != Absurd (Maybe under some definitions, but when someone tells you about something fantastic it is unlikely that they're talking about something absurd. This is what happens when you get addicted to a thesaurus FYI.)
4. Fanatic ~= Crazy

Oh, I guess merriam AND webster both disagree on how I used the term. I don't know how to use an adjective like they do.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I wouldn't put too much faith in a homepage that has big crappy arrows all over them.

I could be wrong here, but it seems to me that a 'substance' that will explode when chewed would not taste good. Don't you think the guy would have known it didn't taste like the stuff he thought he was using?
What could have caused the explosion? Getting the substance wet? The chewing part? If it was caused by getting it wet...if the guy dipped the gum into it, then it would be wet already before he put it in his mouth. If it was the chewing, then he would have tasted it and known it wasn't right (and probably spit it out).
I don't know, but this story seems to be untrue.
