Computer Hardware Inspector

Hi
I am looking for some code fragment that can inspect hardware & software installed in all PCs in a network and return a summary report.

I am looking for a programm that can inspect all the hardware equipment installed in the network , including harddisks, switches e.t.c while running on one of the machines on the network.

Are you looking for a corporate solution?

Because if so Landesk has that functionality along with a rather nice suite of management utilities. However it requires several dedicated servers to run the application and an onsite installation from choicepoint. so needless to say it isnt cheap. but it is good
