So as some of you may know Haiti had a 7.0 earthquake. I dont know if any one is interested in helping or not but below are some links to help with relief efforts. UPS was sending relief pakcets but that has been suspended for the time being.

You can also send $10 to the Red Cross Haitian Relief fund by texting "Haiti" to 90999. Or you can send $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthwuake Fund by texting “Yele” to 501501. Both will be charged to your cell phone bill.
Diasters always seem to bring the better part of people out which in my opinion is kinda sad, but I thought Id post a thread incase anyone was wondering of ways they could help if they'd like to.

I'm hesitant to help those who consistently refuse to help themselves.

I still helped out the relief effort. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for third world countries, i mean they can't really help the way that they are, they are a poor country because they don't have anything that any other country wants. It just makes me sad. I'm probably going to plan a trip down there to help with the cleanup. I live in FL, so it won't be too far of a voyage, plus it is for a good cause

I feel bad for them all, and want to help but I think that america is just dumping and dumping billions of dollars into these countries and there has been only very very slight inmprovment. We should just let them figure it out, eventually someone will decide to stop sitting on there ass and try be a leader, and get there country out of poverty. America is in enough debt as it is.

3 CC-130's have already landed with supplies and the DART team was deployed yesterday. I'm with KYA on this one however, it's a constant circle that doesn't change, after this relief effort they'll be back to where they started.

Its kind of hard when every country has turned their back on Haiti. Look at Puerto Rico, they have instant/automatic citizenship and are doing great (compared to the poorer countries). Haiti has good land for farming but none of the bigger countries care. Only when a earthquake hits, the army appears on the shores with supplies.

It is sad.
On a lighter note, I had a conversation with my mom that went like this:
Mom- "Hey Erica, where's the Banana Republic?"
Me- "I dunno. Probably in a mall or something?"
Mom- "What?"
Me- ".... you said Banana Republic...."
Mom- "Then what's the country next to Haiti?"
Me- *facepalm* "You mean the Dominican Republic?"
Mom- "Yea. [insert names here] went there on vacation this week. ..."
Me- ".... okay...."

You post those mini-convos all the time and by the looks of it, you like to surround yourself with idiots. Is this perhaps an atempt to boost your own ego?
