ROFLMAO

SpectateSwamp is truly the man. I didn't realize the awesomeness of your SSDS. Just wondering what the release date of your OS X port for your application are. I'm not quite satisfied with Spotlight.

They said that SSDS couldn't search a text file larger than 2GB. They were misinformed. They still are reluctant to check the max size for Microsoft, Yahoo, Google and Exalead. Why is that. They still hoping for an internship at one of the pretender Search engines?

Check out the video from this morning. The Olympic torch passed by here. I took a backroad and got ahead of it.

I'm telling them this is the way to hide your most secret secrets. Put them at the end of a huge text file. None of the others are anywhere close to searching big files.

Maximum indexing file size for these search engines is as follows:
(1) Yahoo would not index a 81MB text file
(2) Google would not index a 44MB text file
(2.5) Exalead would not index a 19.78MB text file.
(3) Microsoft would not index a 1.1MB text file
Spectate Swamp has no known text file size limit!!!

These limits are a lot smaller that 5.5GB a lot smaller.

Someone mentioned that Grep would search a 83GB file. Some Swampie should check that limit out. SSDS can whip the Grepplers no problem.

The latest test of a 5.5GB file

You have the code at:
http://www.telusplan...edan/source.txt
You have the exe at"
http://www.telusplan...edan/search.exe
Now go build and search some huge files.

What are you going to do when support for this legacy software is removed in the next version of Windows?

I have skipped Vista and Windows 7. I'll just skip the next one as well. Maybe Me or some Swampie will make the mods needed? So far the program has been running for 10 years. It should be good for another 10.

skipping it is the way to go. i'm doing the same thing with 64 and 128bit processors. 256 is where i'm headed, for future proofing. i bet swampy here is already on that level too.

Eventually you will have to catch up with the rest of the world and you will be left in the dark.

@the rest of DIC:
If the Canadian flag in his avatar means he's from Canada don't worry, we don't teach our students crap like this.
