Using gotos because they increase the readability, efficiency, whatever of a program: GOOD

Using gotos every single time you can because you're too stubborn to do otherwise: BAD

The only reason he's here is because he's been banned everywhere else.

I thought he was just some troll, but he wrote a 10,000 line piece of garbage, and has been posting about how glorious it is over multiple boards for the past two or more years. He's either really committed to trolling or insane.

Sounds like a bad programmer with issues admitting his problem.

In a related story, there's this 12,000 line legacy program I came across at work.

You see things all over it like the same function under 3 names, the code from it pasted into another function like 20 times, IF statements that are needlessly long, only two datatypes: int and string, it looks like 4 people and internet copypasta wrote the thing, and all these people were those flying monkeys from Oz. (I ran some regexp against it so I could map out it's function with the system and decided that 7000-8000 lines of it are all fluff).

Quite possibly the MOST seriously program on the planet. What single program offers more. If Swamp search isn't the single most powerful program on the planet then it will be. Because it's far from done. A whole list of todo items. Most are quite easy to implement.

Do a search for "09 june 2002" and you will see everywhere the code changed when I went from 3 search elemente to 6. So everywhere these "SSS?" search elements are tested or printed is there to see. Check the list of new features in the code. Follow those changes through by It's date stamp.

Spaghetti code like you have never seen it before. It's OK to look.
