Hey guys, I'm running Windows 7. Lately, every time I shut down my computer it says it's going to install updates. So it does it and then shuts off. Then I turn it back on, and it says it's configuring the updates. It'll stay on 0% for a good five minutes and then all of a sudden it says all three updates have been configured and it starts up normally. It's getting annoying to go through this every time I turn on my computer. Can anyone tell me how to make it stop? My guess was that it doesn't save the updates each time, so it repeatedly reinstalls them. I don't really know what to do about it though... Thanks!

How many times did this already happen? Could be caused because of some software conflict or a update error.

It's been happening for a couple of weeks, so probably about 20 times now, every single time. It's always three updates too. My version of Windows isn't exactly legal, could that be part of the problem?

Yes, it could. Windows updates are targeting genuine copies of the OS. Considering that you installed something that goes around the protection mechanism, it could be the source of the issue.
Installing a genuine copy of Windows would be the first step towards solving the issue.

Alright, that's what I was afraid of. Meanwhile, do you know of a way to turn off the updates altogether and have it not even look for them or something?

I probably shouldn't help you with this but, here's a tip. Look in the control panel. I have a legit copy of windows 7 and I figured it out in about 10 seconds.
