Ajax update panel with master page

Need help learning Ajax but i am trying to add this to my site and i get an error.
I have a scriptmanager in my master page and i added a update panel in my test.aspx page under a content place holder. Then i get this error "System.Web.UI.UpdatePanel' does not have a public property nameed 'Label'

    <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server">
        <asp:Label runat="server" Text="Label"></asp:Label>
    </asp:UpdatePanel>
</asp:Content>

You have to place your Label in the content template of the Update Panel as follows:

<asp:UpdatePanel runat="server">
    <ContentTemplate>
        <asp:Label runat="server"></asp:Label>
    </ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
