I am safe, the guy is a friend of my sisters, so I am not worried about him stealing anything (he is not really tech-savvy either) And I agree with you - but ultimately it is his decision so I am trying to come up with something more abstract and I am thinking that once i get the most recent sketch digital it will look less like a character...
I will post the results.

Beyond the simple aesthetics, it may also be beneficial to consider what are the reasons that someone would want a fence installed. More specifically, what is the target market/customer/goal as it pertains to this specific company? Is it for security? Landscaping? Lawn envy? Black-market drug dealing?
When it makes sense to do so, the logo should identify with a core customer need.

Ditch the fence to the left of the logo on the first page and you have something going there.
Use the circle, mold it more to a humanoid shape as far as shading, decrease the font size to where it evens or is smaller than the main graphic.

Looks much better then the first set however, the fences do not stand out in the first one like they do in the second. It also looks very dark.

I will have to say - I am a bit concerned that if that logo was printed small the fence outlines will look like a bunch of lines and not well defined. Perhaps space them out more on the small logo?

I still don't think of a fence company when I look at that logo.
Why don't you get with the client and ask them what they think of/picture when they think of the company.

If it was printed smaller, it would be very hard to tell what it was. Like, when you have the first circle in the superior, you can't really tell what that it. So I would suggest either spacing it out more, as you said. Or change the colors, because the dark colors seem to almost merge together and create a blur.
