I'm upgrading my neighbors' computer to Windows 7 from Windows XP Media Center. They had a ton of viruses so i installed Windows XP Home overtop of it, backed up all of their files, and tried to run the Windows 7 setup off of the upgrade disc that they bought. The drive will not recognize the Windows 7 cd but it'll run the Dell drivers cd, windows xp cd, and world of warcraft (not mine I swear, only other one they had).

I thought that maybe there was a problem with the disc so I ran it on my mac laptop and it came up with all of the files where they're supposed to be and I was able to load it up on my windows xp pro desktop. So i went back and reformatted the hard drive with my windows xp pro hoping that i would get the same results as I did my desktop. It STILL won't recognize the Windows 7 cd and as far as I know it's the only one with that problem. What the hell is wrong???

Assuming that the Windows 7 disk is OEM : Are you certain that the Windows 7 disk isn't a DVD in a cdrom drive?
