Hi, I have been having trouble with my network lately and was wondering what the problem could be. I have movies that I own downloaded to my one of my computers that will suddenly just stop working. My network was working just fine before I added a Ubuntu server and a "green" trendnet gigabit switch. When I am streaming to my desktop, which is vista(cough, piece of crap!) the computer will go to a blue screen and complain about tcpip.sys. On my laptop, windows 7, the video starts to slow and the sound stops and then the sound starts back up and tries to catch up to the video only to surpass it. What could be the problem?

So the Ubuntu machine does or does not experience network issues?
Sounds to me like you've got your Windows machines infected w/ something nasty.

When the windows windows computer is streamining and starts to have some problems then I can still putty into the server without any problems. What could be the problem? The streaming problem doesnt cause the windows 7 computer to crash, only the vista computer crashes. Any suggestions for an antivirus/antimalware/firewall?
