Amazing addon! I've already noticed it some days ago. I like it.

But you have a little problem with synchronizing, because sometimes under the nick it says "301", but when you click on the miniprofil you see "303" or something like that. It's just a little hint :-)

Yeh, in certain areas of the site it uses real-time data, and in others it uses cached data that updates hourly. There is SO much data that the forum software caches some of it for quicker page loads.

Do "0"s resulting from +n and -n votes display anything, I wonder? ;)

Is there any initiative to remove the reputation modifiers from posts in forums that aren't geared toward helping anyone such as caffeine lounge and corner cube? The reputation seems to only make the most sense in help driven forums because you actually provide help. Everywhere else is just a pissing contest of popularity and community opinion which makes it just like reddit or digg or whatever.

I like the new rep system, but something concerns me. What's to stop someone from writing a bot that downvotes every post on D.I.C.? Other forums that use the rep system have had that problem, and one way to prevent it is to put a time limit between the votes and limit the number of votes anyone can give any one member in any one day (such as I could only give 1 vote to skyhawk per day).

MentalFloss brings up a great point. As you mentioned this was to show a prestige among certain users who give quality answers, yet the source of up/down voting is unfiltered. However it wouldn't be fair to the members that like those forums to be left out on the new upgardes. I say you should leave the up/down vote, however it wouldn't actually contribute to your reputaion, possibly even rename the "Was This Post Helpful" to "Did you like this Post?". This way you can still squelch idiots and highlight good/funny posts, all the while keeping the high rep to those who are working to earn it.

Like the changes, can't wait for the profile change. My reputation goes up but I don't know which post caused it so then I never know if someone just didn't answer but marked a post or what. When there are a lot of topics hanging it's hard to tell if you've helped or not without finding them and going through them. Hopefully in the future you could do something to show that someone has marked a post helpful at the topic list level.

Look at your profile you can see who voted up/down on you and who you voted on. It's under the avatar on the left.

Quote

In the future, we'll be adding functionality to mark posts as "Solved" and if the person that started the thread, an admin, moderator, or mentor marks your post as the one that solved the question, you'll receive bonus reputation for the correct answer.

Would a solved thread be locked off from everyone else? (besides mods, obviously). For example, if someone had some additional information that would help the OP out, would they be able to post in the topic?

I like being able to see who voted my posts up, and for which post :)

Wait, what KYA?

I said I like the ability to see it, not I would like that.

Or were you referring to the first part of my post?
