I am guessing the reason you have a negative reputation is because you are posting factually incorrect information. Nobody is flaming you. We are not going to reward you for posting incorrect information. The purpose of the community is to provide and produce quality content so that others may learn from it. If we see something that is not right, we aren't going to pat you on the back and thank you for the poor quality content. We are going to fix the situation by posting the correct information for future readers.
Think about it in a real life context. If you go around giving people bogus information, you're going to gain a pretty bad reputation and people are going to learn to avoid you. Right now I think your reputation properly reflects the content you have produced. That doesn't mean your reputation can't change in the future. You're a brand new member and it can take some time to understand the explicit and implicit rules and regulations of the community.
A reputation of -1 really isn't that bad. That just means you're two quality posts away from going green. As advice I would say check your facts before you post them on the boards. There is no point in posting incorrect information because that doesn't help anyone.

would you help me out a little then please?
I have been to a few forums where I got nothing but flamed for liking linux, for not being a hacker e.t.c.
I am mostly interested in low level stuff.
could you give me some pointers such as anywhere I can get my posts checked before posting? (the posts were actually based from what the uiversity gave me which also got me A in the exams).

Most of Wikipedia's computer science related articles are fantastic. So that would be a great place to begin cross checking your posts.

Welcome to D.I.C.
What Dark_Nexus said. Read here for a clarification of the rules regarding reputation.
If you think getting -repped for a couple of posts that experienced users believe were wrong is getting FLAMED, you must be new to the Internet. If you post something which is arguably wrong, then argue why you believe it's NOT wrong in the topic in which you were -repped. That is what a discussion is all about!
Stick around, grow a bit of a thicker skin, and continue to make contributions and you'll be fine.

I usually consider flaming a personal attack. This site tries to avoid personal attacks and will shut things down if they go that direction. However, we're all computer geeks and there are clearly no shortage of strong opinions in the tech community.
If you say "my language, OS, IDE, computer, game console, etc.", is the best or that one sucks, the topic moight move to heated topics and everyone will have a good tussle. As long as everyone attacks the ideas it's not flaming, just disagreeing.
If you post something that's technically wrong, people will call you on it. They probably won't call you a dumbass, but they will point out your mistake. It's nothing personal, you're wrong, deal with it. If you don't believe you're wrong, find another source to back you up. Such debates are often informative to the audience and sometimes there is no resolution. That's not flaming either, just disagreement.

I wouldn't actually worry too much about rep. Reputation doesn't do anything except just be there, it's the kudos that get you things on this website. Just contribute and remain integral to yourself even if you're not popular at all. You should pay attention to what kinds of posts get voted down and up rather than your total reputation.
Trying to please everyone and getting all the votes are things politicians do.
