My desktop backgrounds

Posted 01 March 2010 - 06:17 PM

Here are some of my desktop backgrounds that I made. If you going to criticize them then say a way I could improve it. I just started graphic designing.

#1 suggestion - Experiment.

What you have now looks like maybe 3 or 4 filters and some playing around with basics. We all started at about the same line so there's no worries there.

The number 1 thing that got me up to speed was reading tutorials like crazy and spending at least 4-5 hours on a piece playing with everything, mix-and-match, just seeing what all COULD be done.

Now I tend to spend on a Web Design around 20 Hours (depending) and on Celestial Art at or over 100 Hours (Though that involves painting, fine detail, and images at ridiculously large resolutions.)

Some places to get a good feel:

and I strongly suggest getting an account on a social art site and try and build a bit of a following. The most popular is http://www.deviantart.com and it's filled with tutorials, resources, textures, inspiration, and pretty much anything you can imagine.

You can find me as lemurweb or keystonelemur if you need help around there.
