Website Maintenance

Posted 19 May 2006 - 02:35 AM

Hi everyone,

I´m a retired lady in Spain, who doesn´t know a lot about website programming, but likes to mess about at a basic level with my community website that I provide for expats to the costa blanca.

What I need is someone who can go over my site and correct any errors they see, tidy up, help make it load quicker etc.

The site is based on the Invision Board forums, for which I pay the yearly license, so that bit doesn´t need anything doing, but I have wrapped it with my own html code. I paid someone to make the services list on the left automatic so that local businesses could insert their own free advertisments without my intervention-this was done in PHP using open source reality as a base. I need it changed slightly so that advertisers can only insert x amounts of words in the description form (as a lot take advantage with reams of words which I then have to edit myself)

Lately, although I haven´t changed anything to this code, I am getting errors - and sometimes the service section forces the whole centre table to the right.

Anyway, enough of my long story. I am willing to pay someone knowledgable to help me, (as long as its not an arm and a leg) I have a forum kitty where advertisers fees and donations from the site go, as I do not take any profit from this site and run it to help out my local community.

If anyone is able and willing to help, please let me know. I need someone I can trust obviously B)

Site url is www.lamarinaforum.com

I've moved this to the Job Offers section, where you will likely get a better response.

You may also want to take a look at our network site: http://www.forumadmins.net

While still a new'ish community, there may be a couple folks that would be willing to assist you.

Good Luck with your site!

I would be willing to try and look at it. Since I have no experience and this would be my first pay job, I wouldn't charge much. PM for more details.

I'm kind of looking for some projects so as to provide a decent portfolio of web design work I've done. Therefore, I'd be willing to do it for next to nothing.

Given the date of the original post, the user may no longer require someone for this position. :)
