Kinda hard to do work, when there's not a single icon (not even trash can) on your Windows desktop.

That's why it comes with a handy-dandy little start menu doodad.

That's how I like mine, too. It's kind of an OCD thing. I hate having icons on my desktop. Drives me insane.

Don't know why I bother with a desktop background, I hardly ever see it. For when I need it, only two icons and could easily make it just one.

Yep, same here. I have to have a clean desktop. I use an application called Fences to keep my icons organized. I actually do have a few icons on my desktop - Fences allows you to hide all your icons by double clicking your desktop.

Here's my desktop with icons. Fences also lets you group you icons in little fence things. Damn, I should get paid for advertising them lol.

Edit: Just reformatted, so some folders are still empty.

I hate seeing them there, as I enjoy seeing my background.

I just have mine invisible, but I've really got TONS of them. And I've added a toolbar to the Windows 7 taskbar to let me access anything on the desktop anyway...so...

Here is my, recently cleaned, work desk. I'm also using fences to keep my desktop clean. I tend to move them around when I'm working, so any fences that I'm not using get shoved up to the top of the screen.
