I'm not sure how many others are fans of this genere but I am enough to try and spread the word. If your not a fan but spend any amount of time playing games It's likely you've heard of the Command and Conquer series.
In my opinion the series began to flop and fizz from the mouth not long after EA ate up Westwood. Red Alert 2 was a disaster but EA recovered some credability with Generals and ZeroHour. That's all fine and dandy but the games seemed to lack something essential to the Command and Conquer univerese. They were, after all, not taking advantage of the original game ideas. Personally I could have done with out a good portion of the latest CNC releases and been just as happy as before.
I'm a personal fan of the older releases (Tiberian dawn, red alert 1 and of course Tiberian Sun). Not only were the games fun but they had the feel I believe CnC was supposed to have.
There has been a lot of 'demand' in the community for the next release in the 'Tiberium universe' and it was finally announced! EA is in the middle of developing CnC 3: Tiberium wars. Not only that but the producer from the original games (hired from Westwood) is directing the entire project. After all this time they've decided to return to the original storyline. All I have to say is it's about time.
There are a few screens floating about the web and they're looking fantastic. If you're at all a fan of CnC you should take a minute and check them out.
Command n Conquer 3Yep, it's coming.

I'd have to disagree there with you. Red Alert 2 was one of the most played games back in the day when it came out. I've probably had more fun playing that game than I have any other game. To me Generals and ZeroHour were the disapointment. At first they were interesting and good but after you played a couple of hours it was all the same.
But other than that, yes im very excited to see the new game. From what i've seen so far the graphics are insane, hopefully it wont have a disapointing gameplay.

Well to each their own
In any case from what I've heard it uses the same engine Generals and Battle field middle earth use but with some 'extras' as descirbed in the few interviews.
I have the same hope on the game play.
The thing I like about this addition is the simple fact that it will have the 'serious' environment RA and RA2 lacked. Instead of the cartoonish apperance and gameplay it will have more of an adult feel to it (for a lack of better terms).
regardless - it looks fantastic.

i actually liked all the C&C, especially RA2, i was not a fan of zerohour though, and i just never had time to try generals.
Dune was also a good one
But i would actully like to see C&C 3 come out

RA2 was my favorite, I still play it today. Generals wasn't necessarily a disappointment but I disliked the graphics engine and the singleplayer had shit storyline going for it which is why I liked CNC in the first place.
