Brute force router attack

Posted 28 April 2010 - 08:02 AM

Hi,
I am having a problem with one of my wired routers. I re-flashed the firmware and since then I cant get into the thing. Even if I try to reset to factory defaults it still has the problem. I have tried to re-flash with a tftp tool but it doesn't work. Since it has telnet support I was thinking of simply writing a shell code to try to do a brute force attack on the darn thing. If I could find a tool that could do this without me having to write it it would be very good to find. It still has dhcp and nat capabilities so it is just the log in that is the problem.
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Mr. O

Is this custom firmware or the official router firmware ? I assume you've tried the default login for your router model?

It is official firmware. I was sure of that. I have tried the default password which is no password and I also tried "password". Neither of them worked

Maybe check out http://www.phenoelit...rg/dpl/dpl.html and see if there's a combination that you haven't tried.

lkr-604, i know it is a piece of crap but it does its job. I have already tried to get tech support from the manufacturer. I just need to know if I need to write that script or if there is another option.

When you said you tried with no password, did you enter 'admin' as the username ?

I guess I'll just buy a new one. It is only about $10 for one that would work just fine.

Here is a pdf of the documentation provided by the manufacturer for the lkr-604 router.

You can also try the information provided here.

All I did was a quick search for lkr-604 default password.
