Indeed. My computer can handle it (specs seen in conky...) and I love the look. Plus, with just the basic apps, KDE runs pretty well.

I've just revived my old laptop, a Acer Aspire 3650, that was forgot on my desk, then I've restarted to use it, now I have 2 laptops running Synergy. 
I'm using it to develop with Javascript and Assembly.

Downloading Chrome now. The icon next to DropBox is logmein, I'm not sure how often I will leave my notebook running at home but it can come in pretty handy sometimes.
