this reminds me of a little quote i used to open up my senior thesis (about the patriot act, i'm right there with thorian)
"Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin

im not sure if your reffering to blogging as an essential liberty.as for your quote on telling people what they can do and what they cannot i quite agree
what i meant by justifying the government was that its not like india is a nation like china holding unreasonable restrictions on her citizens

i would say that yes that is completely unreasonable, and its downright scary that you seem ok with it. slippery slope.

OMG frog...I didn't expect this.
Many Guys just believe this bullshit because they don't know what's right and what's wrong...but...
I'm completely with sloth and skyhawk...
And how will banning blogs help curb riots anyway? People are so pathetic and bored out here, they'll do it anyway.
Each one is entitled to have his opinion.
Such Fundamental Rights of Speech should never be suppressed.
We should not make a big deal of it just because someone writes crap about a situation on a blog.
Take this example.
You're writing an english examination on Shakespeare.
One guy might write a correct interpretation of what Shakespeare actually mean't in a paragraph while another might write something totally different.
Now do you justify this if the entire Shakespeare Fan Club creates Riots just because one guy wrote his interpretation of the paragraph in a different manner?
Let's not be fools.
And the worst part is that....Since I'm one of the only Indians having this opinion...I'm being treated like a fool where I share my opinion in my own country.
God Help Me and my stupid people.
AND P.S : Sloth...I think I'll SPAM that 'Liberty' quote to every Govt. Official in India....Those Bastards need it the most.
