Google Web Toolkit

Posted 13 May 2010 - 06:42 PM

I've been exploring the Google Web Toolkit. It seems to be a good resource to the Java programmer that may have to occasionally do web work. I am curious to know if it has more than a novel value. The claim is that it allows feature rich AJAX to be written in Java and translated into optimized Javascript. Does it live up to it's claim? Does anyone use this feature of the GWT SDK in their professional work?

I don't or haven't but I'm going to the Google conference this week which has sessions that cover GWT. I'll let you know what I learn there.

Eggserent. Once I wrap up the semester I might try and see what it can do. Seems sufficiently interesting.

Just got back from the Google developer conference today and they did a demo on GWT and it seems pretty click and easy to build upon.
