Well yeah... Picture of my broken toe. I broke it on the job on the client's property, so I filed a report to keep the bosses happy.

It's free, and its called 'Fences' by Stardock. Very nice for keeping the desktop clean.

Ouch, what were you doing that broke your toe? Drop something heavy? I messed up my finger bad once by losing grip on a heavy object.

Ah nice. Yeah I got nothing except the recycling bin on my desktop so that doesn't really bother me. Everything is in quicklaunch on windows. Similar setup on the mac.

Here's a (partial) picture of my actual desktop. I'll take one when it's lighter in here, I sit back in the corner (intentional, cannot stand to have my back exposed)

Well if you want to go the multi-monitor route...
This is my home-office development PC.

Dual 30" or a single 30" with dual 20s on each side would be better. Those all look like 24s or smaller? And can you seriously use 4-5 screens? Three is really my limit. If I had to do it, I'd do three 30" max.

I have dual 21 inch monitors. Now thinking of upgrading to dual 24 inch, or possibly 3 21 inch

4 x 24" at 1920x1200 (2 landscape, 2 portrait)
1 x 19" at 1280x1024
1 x 7" at 800x480 (Mimo usb touchscreen)

And yes, I absolutely use them all. Visual Studio across two of them, VMware test/debug environment on one, Outlook and Yahoo on one, PDF and webpage on one. Development can eat real estate in a heartbeat.

I never find myself moving x in order to open/see y, and that boosts productivity by huge amounts. I can have every pallet of VS10 open at once with plenty of room to spare.

I like this layout because they are large enough to be useful and small enough to position in an arc to keep the focal distance pretty consistent from a central seat. They basically form one big curved display, but with edges so you can maximize to a useful size with just a click.

Take the dual 24". It'd be better.

One card with 4 ports.
Plus the onboard video.
Plus the little 7" is USB.

I'm looking forward to when I can afford the EyeFinity and have a VERY configurable 6 head card.
