Greetings,
I have an external IPv6 access from one of my PC's which works wonderfully. IPv6 address from Freenet, I believe(?), is tied to my external IPv4 address, for the Netgear router. The XP PC has a TSP GUI client from Freenet running, displaying status of the IPv6 connection and allows me to turn it on or off. I'm happy.
Now to the challenge: The same router also has two Ubuntu driven PCs and another (wireless) XP system.
The IPv6 space is full of academic "Why you must get with the program now" and quasi-commercial "How to migrate your enterprise". I have failed to find any documentation which explains in straightforward step-by-step fashion how to turn your home network to IPv6. Most threads I have seen, that began as a straight question soon degenerated into "should implement" vs "shouldn't implement" arguments. I don't want to even go there.
What I would like to do, is to switch to IPv6 between all my systems which are behind the NAT, including the one I am using for external communication, without exposing all the other PC's to the world at large.
There is some work being done to get a DHCPv6 ready for market but I believe it is not ready for prime time yet. NAT obviously isn't going to handle non-tunneled IPv6 traffic which is good. Both Ubuntu and XP automatically assign both IPv4 and IPv6 "local" addresses. How can I make them visible to each other or do I have to go back to Freenet and get a dedicated number for each PC?
All suggestions that pass the "Grandpa-test" will pave your way to top my list of "Uber-Gurus and Champions of Technology!"
Setting up IPv6 at homeHas anyone of you guru's done it successfully?

Well this is quite the undertaking you have done sir. Unfortunately I dont think I will be of much help untill I get sent to a IPv6 class before we migrate if we migrate anytime soon.
However I believe that I will do some poking around.
