This is why I never buy any of my games new right at the release. I just picked up a new copy of ODST for $30 from the store.

I thoroughly enjoyed Last Remnant. I liked the story, some parts were quite challenging, and the battle system was unique and interesting. Some would disagree though.

Last Remnant - I really enjoy the battle system, unions, etc. It took me a long time to get over the main character's personality.
The game is very deep, and I would play completely differently going through again knowing what I know now (more regret than any other game for "screwing up"). Also, the pacing is stupid. In some cases I can dominant an areas enemies, then the boss on the next screen will totally pwn me.
Finally, SAVE POINTS. There is one particular battle where you fight minions for about 30-40 minutes (estimate, obviously), then fight a hard boss. No save between. Die to the boss, fight the minions. After the last one, there's another boss, no save point. So if you beat the 40 minute minion fight, the 25 minute boss fight, and then die to the third fight, you have to start over again. This game is stupid about giving you the opportunity to save.
Other than that, I enjoy it. Combat is definitely fun, and a lot of the characters are likeable. Also is quite lengthy.
