Processor in early 2010 Mac Mini

Would I be better off getting the 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor or the 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor in the early 2010 Mac Mini?
Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

I'd go for the one with the bigger number. It sounds faster.

It cost $150. I wonder if it's worth it.

This is subjective. I say you can't put a price on your computer set up but others may disagree. So much so, It's one of the biggest arguing factors for Windows fanboys. Personally for me I wouldn't take any chances, go with the bigger numbers =]

Yeah. I'm thinking that I'm going to get the bigger processor.

How much money do you have to spend? How long are you planning to use this machine before upgrading? Is the only difference the processor speed?

Well I'm not planing on spending more than $900. My father gets a discount at Apple for their product, though I don't remember how much the discount is. I don't know how long I'm going to use this machine before upgrading, it's my first Macintosh. Yeah.

Ahhh just looked on the Apple store and I see what you mean, didn't realize you were talking about just a processor upgrade. Personally I would save the money for a nice monitor or something. :)

Yeah. I'm going to be using a Panasonic 42" 1080p HD television until I can get a monitor.

Wow the resolution is gonna suck. Does your dad work at Apple or something? Why does he get a discount?

As long as they have a job or go to school, pretty much anyone can get a discount from Apple. Unfortunately it's not worth very much (I get 50-100USD depending on the item).

Okay I get the education store discount... I don't get the job/chrysler reference to discounts however. It is worth a lot actually. I got about a $400 discount on my last macbook pro configuration recently (less than 2 weeks ago). Minus tax, I saved like $800+ on that system.

You got that with your education discount or a job discount?

Education. Just had to look at it again. The exact price was $4,449.66 not including shipping. The price I paid out of pocket was $3,664.00. This was a pure hardware configuration. No software upgrade. So actually a little shy of $800.
