I'm trying to setup a network with more than 4 computers, which is standard for all routers, and I"m planning on using daisychained routers, one DI-604 and a DI-524. I tried just connecting my DI-604 to the 524, but for some resason I get no internet on my server connected to my 604. I suspect that this is because I have a MAC adresse filter on my 524 and the serv is not onthe allow list, but something is confusing. shouldn't my packets coming from the server be modified by the first router and then be taken to the second? Or do the packets always keep the same sender adresse?

Ok it sounds like you need to do this. Connect the 2 routers using a crossover cable to a regular ethernet port not the broadband port. Disable the DHCP and any router functions of the 604 because you need to use it as a switch.
If that dosent work perhaps Im not sure as to why you want to do it the way you have described

You mean a regular port on the 524 and wan port on the 604 right. That would make more sense since the 604 is getting it's internet of of the 524.

regular port on both because the 604 is just functioning as a switch at this point. The Wan Port may or may not allow internet connectivity depending on how the firewall and router is configured.
