How to...

I'm looking for ways to check wich local ports are being accessed, (and open) withouth opening them up
Kida like the netstat command does (I don't want to forward the function...)

Are there any ways to do so?

The reason I want to know is because I'm building a trip-wire to catch intruders
But I can't figure out a way to check my prots without forwarding dos commands

( system("netstat"); )

Or trying to open them on a socket and then look if it returns an error (I dislike this because there can be 100's of reasons why a port won't respond/openup so this would result in many false-positives)

Thanks in advance

While Port Scanners may have ethical applications, they can be used maliciously. For that reason, I'm closing this thread.

Dan, in response to your petition to have this thread reopened, I'm afraid it's going to remain closed. The team has discussed the issue of Port Scanners, and we have decided not to facilitate their development for the reasons I mentioned above.

Thanks for your understanding. :)
