list wysiwyg editor's tags and emoticons

Posted 25 July 2010 - 01:46 AM

While browsing another part of the forum today I discovered someone mentioning that this:

:code:

is an emote. It never occurred to me that people weren't just pasting in an image they'd copied from the last person they saw use it. Why would I guess it was a smiley?

Last week or so I discovered there's an inline tag. Neither of these are mentioned anywhere - the inline tag isn't in the wysiwyg toolbar and the emoticon isn't in the smiley drop down.

I think anything relevant to DIC that's not covered explicity by buttons in the toolbar should be listed somewhere. I mean, perhaps it is but I've never stumbled across it. I have no idea if there are more things I should be using.

Even perhaps an example post using all of the useful tags and smileys to serve as a basic style guide, that you get directed to when you first sign up?

In the full editor if you click the help button (see blow image) then a windows will open showing you the BB tags

I'd have to agree, though, that inline and code tags are used quite frequently and should be placed in the toolbar for the editor.

Cool. I am so unobservant. Is there a similar page for the emote tags or is ;code; the only special case?
