I want to buy two monitors of the same brand and size to use them for programming on my desk.
In your experience which two monitors are the cheapest and best bang for my buck for this case? I'm going to use it for programming mostly.
Thank you!

I have 4 Dell 24" widescreens and a 19" square Samsung on my development machine.
2 Dells are older 2405
2 Dells are model 2407
Bought them in the USA... transported them to Australia for 3 years there... Now back in the USA and they are still as bright and crisp as when they were new.

You're demonstrating exactly why I love widescreen monitors: turn em on their sides and they're perfect for coding

Monitors from Dell are quite cheap, I've been using 3 monitors for the past year, (22inch widescreen HP and a Dell 19inch at each side)
Anyway I've had the dell monitors 3 years, still no problems, so I'd recommend them.

I have an 22" Acer x203w (I think). 1680x1050 and it cost $120.
It has VGA and DVI in and it lets you switch between them through the monitor controls, so I use it with my Xbox 360.
It also has several different color modes (I think most LCDs do this), but I usually go between Text (when I'm programming or reading) and Movie (when I'm gaming).

I have 2 21" Haans-G Monitors and have yet to have a single issue with them at all. Colors are good, no dead pixels when arriving from NewEgg

What is? Multiple monitors? Lots of cards out there for it. And it REALLY boosts your productivity to have all your visual studio pallets open and not over each other. SO much time is wasted opening and closing windows or watching the 'Server Explorer' slide open/closed. With 4 screens I can have VS open, the app being debugged, and another app talking to the new app, all open at once and not blocking each other.

If you are still running Windows XP-32 I have a 8 port cards I need to sell. Yes, I said eight monitor video card.
PCI not PCIe, and I can't find drivers beyond XP32. I was considering building up a development PC using it, then sell the entire PC just to make it easy on someone.

I've never encountered more than 3 monitors on one computer before. I now consider them a necessity.
Note to self: when I have money to blow, get lots of monitors and capable cards.

I've currently got a dual monitor set up and I'd like to upgrade to three. Once you start using multiple monitors you'll never look back.

I honestly dont know how people develop on a single monitor setup. My next goal is getting a 3rd monitor (Well gotta get a bigger desk to hold a 3rd one)

I sometimes use the 42" in the living room as a 6th monitor to test how things look on a BIG screen. That requires me to look back... over my shoulder that is.

I have the big desk system shown here up for sale. It doesn't fit in the 5th Wheel my wife and I are moving to for full-time on the road lifestyle.
Going to be coding from home still. Just that 'home' will have a new location every month or two.

I would love to do that, be in a different place whenever I wanted. Hook a satellite to the side and be gone (Gotta have my TV when coding man)
