VB.NET printing/spooling vs. VB6 printing/spooling

Posted 29 July 2010 - 12:46 PM

I am working to upgrade one of our vb6 programs that handles report printing to vb.net VS2008.

We are using the Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.Printing.Compatibility.VB6 namespace hand have been able to restore most functionality.

But one sticking point is holding me back. In VB6 printer.newpage sent the previous page off to the windows spooler but in vb.net, it holds all the pages until enddoc is reached.

The main problem this causes for us is that some of our reports are several thousands of pages, resulting in an out of memory error.

Is there a way in vb.net to get the document to begin spooling to the windows print spooler without waiting until you reach the enddoc?
