Not sure where to post this since it's not programming nor computer related so flame away.
My phone (a cheap POS by the way, I dont need some fancy phone just something to make calls with when I'm away from home) is doing something weird; when someone calls me it just reboots itself. Any idea why this would all of a sudden be happening?

This isn't an Android phone, it's a cheap ass Samsung and I haven't been able to find anything on why it's doing this. Thanks though

Hehe is it using the Windows OS?
It's better that it reboot than it send text messages to random people across the country!
An "I love you honey" type message got sent to someone who wasn't my honey...someone I don't know (isn't in my contact list or anything) and it took me a month to tell him to stop trying to talk to me. For over 4 months my messages would go to random people from Quebec to Alberta.
I've never trusted text-messages ever since.

@Frinavale: I don't believe that for a minute. You have a bad habit of sexting strangers, and you stopped when supersloth started telling you all about his furious masturbation. Or did you start sexting gabehabe? I don't know which is worse.

maybe you have too many people whose names start with M in your address book and it's creating a segment fault in the computers operating system.
or maybe it's probably just broken.

The Samsung OS probably got corrupted. Several years ago, long before the iPhone and such smart phones came along, I had a Nokia that one day decided to crap out on me entirely. It gave me a black screen of death with some red text saying something along the lines of phone is bricked basically. It was working perfectly fine the night before and up until I took it off the charger, it was fine. Then all of a sudden the OS files decide to get corrupt or whatever. I ended up buying a different phone and had to get everyone's phone number again.
I use to switch between different phone vendors a lot in those days but since having the iPhone when it came out, I've been using every generation iPhone since. The beauty of it is now pretty much nothing is stored on the SIM and everything is backed up on the computer so in case shit happens, you don't lose anything. In your case if it doesn't get out of an infinite restart loop for some reason, it's pretty much a lost cause. They can "reflash" the phone but they'll probably try and charge you a fee for it.

if you use google sync you can move freely between android, iphone, and blackberry's without being tied to any phone manufacturer and having your data backed up in the cloud.
