This is not really programming/web related but it is GD related.
I know there are a lot of great graphics designers here at DIC. I was recently shopping for clothes and I saw a lot T-shirts with grunge patterns on them. I thought to myself, I wonder if any of the DICers have ever thought of trying there own line of grunge T-shirts. They are extremely popular and I thought it could be a good business start up. You would want to do some research before taking the plunge but you would only lose a little time doing that.
Have you ever thought?

I've been considering T-Shirt design for a while but my graphic skills in illustrator and those types of concepts needs a year or two's more work before I'd be confident in it.
Last T-Shirt I designed was my senior year:

Not the best but it worked.
Regardless I might look into the idea some more as I get into cartooning and some cultural art on my own.

Well with Cafepress and all you can setup a 'tshirt shop' fairly easily and inexpensively.
If you are talking about *making* the shirts and doing all the manual production well that's a different story. One of the cooks at my bar I drink at made tshirts as a hobby.. not a bad graphics guy and I gave him some pointers to shore up things. He was really into the whole silk screening and applying different colors in layers.
Side note - did you snag a shirt? If so model it for us!

No, didn't see one that appealed to me. I've seen work from a some of the designers here and thought they could do better than some of the shirts I saw. I know little about the equipment, other than doing some silk screening years ago. I've also seen vendors at the malls around here who are selling shirts with funny sayings on them. My favorites are: "I'm lost, please take me home with you." and "You have the rest of your life to be an jerk, why not take some time off?"

Not a very good one at the very least.
I might play around with some tshirt ideas and start posting some random ones as I get done.
