Not sure what you mean here you'll need to post more info such as your OS, since you mentioned Start key we could assume that you're using Windows but we can't be sure...

im planning to automize a cyber cafe using software made by me

the user will get the login screen at start ( of my software aftr windows start up )

bt problem is user can go to command prompt and kill my process
and continue his work without authenticating himself

so how can lock ALT key and START key ????
system specification
Os : windows

one more problem is
during users session he can change computers IP add and it will be difficult for administrator / cyber cafe operator to track him ..............
so can i stop any1 from changing IP add ????

can this be stopped by
making him login as guest user ????

My county locks down our school computers pretty tight. Some of the things they do include:
-Denying access to command prompt
-Limiting and denying access to certain preferences
-Limiting access to printers we can install
-Denying access to install software
-Internet filtering and monitoring
-Remote Desktoping computers to monitor users in real-time

Even if you make the IP's static (I don't know enough about networking to really expand on that), the user can still access a proxy site.

This has squat to do with Java, btw.

The computer chooses it's IP. It might ask a DHCP server for one, but you can manually set it to anything. Whether the address is routable to anywhere is another matter.

You could give a user only guest rights to the machine, though prior to Vista that didn't really guarantee the machine was safe. If it's Linux, you can lot it down like a safe, of course.

So this is your own Cyber Cafe server/client software? Something akin to the Opensource Cybera?

Yeah this is a Local Security Policy permission problem with your software.

I assumed it was Windows, what version is your Server running, Client etc... Locking down the keys would make the OS pretty unusable, especially the ALT key.

No but a Group policy that would lock down certain aspects of the OS should suffice.

I think this is probably better off in Computer and OS Support.

Check for Group policy

START >> Gpedit.msc >>user configuration >>> Administrator template >> Network>> Network connection>> Enable all from not configured.

Disable access to the command prompt & disable access to the control panel.

I see evil guest already answered this :P

Block access to printers and faxes. That is a old path to get to the control panel. My school did not do that and they paid for it later when a kid had a bunch of fun with the system.

if you have admin rights you can set a static ip.( right click on network device/ click edit tcp/ip) if not then your out of luck, if you have access to the router reserve your ip to your mac addresss.
