Welding as well. Never did any certs, but took enough classes. Mig, tig, stick, gas.

I used to have a side business doing leather work and making chain mail. Leather work is fun. Currently focusing on 10th century construction techniques. Need to make more shoes, pouches, sheaths.

Cooking is probably a big one. Usually just for home, but I once catered for 750 people.

Great stuff! I love taking shots at gigs, or more like I would love taking shots at gigs more if I knew how to get quality photos like that in low light. For the life of me I can't get shots like that at all, not sure if it's my settings or the lens but not sure on the correct settings or the correct lens for that.

If you are in low light situations, you should really use a top mount flash pack.

I've been exploring the http://www.Strobist.com world on/off over the last year or so. I enjoy photography, but off-camera flash has added another dimension and made it a little more interesting for me.

I'm an assistant scuba instructor and just completed my 100th dive.

I grew up in the HVAC business, so kind of fell in line with that right out of high school. Got an associate's degree and I'm state licensed. As I've gotten older, asthma and allergies have gotten worse, so that's not really a viable field for me to be in for the rest of my life. Damp, moldy crawl spaces are not pleasant regardless, but get worse when you suddenly can't breathe. Not to mention the variety of other irritants you get exposed to daily.

I also built houses for about 5 years. I wasn't the *builder* (the guy with the money and the financial liabilities), I was a superintendent. Basically, I had to be a jack-of-all-trades (not the member here) and manage each homes construction. I figure I built around 200 - 250 houses during my tenure which promptly ended with the economic downturn.

So yeah, anybody have any construction related questions, I'd be glad to help. I've done a bit of everything, but I'm only familiar with Georgia's codes.

I've been wanting to get into photography, we just got a Cannon 10D for cheap and love it. Just don't know much about programming the thing.

10D is a great camera, dont think ive ever had a bad cannon!

I current use a Nikon D1, I love it although I would like one with a better resolution for printing.

My first Canon was a D-60. Now I have a 40-D and a 7D. Wonderful cameras. Of course its all about the lenses:
18-200 Image Stablized
50-500 Supertele
2x doubler (put that on the 500mm to make it 100-1000mm)
I've got some photos up on my personal site: http://web.me.com/tl.../My_Albums.html
There are also some 1900px wide galleries if you have a widescreen.

The blog page has some shots from last Saturday's Michael Buble concert in Vegas. We had seats so high up there were guides and sherpas and the half-way base camp. :arabia: Yet I got some decent (not amazing) shots.

I'm pretty decent at skateboarding.

When I was a teenager I was a lot better, and a lot more crazy. Now that I'm a little bit older I play it safe. I still go to the skatepark every now and then to ride the transitions(bowls, quarter pipes) just cause it's really fun.

Oh and I'm a good at listening :)

Those Skindred photos were without flash :D

It was with my first media access pass, infront of the barriers.

The tip for shots like that is getting the shutter speed as slow as possible without causing too much blur then make sure your taking 5 to 10 rapid fire shots to get the best shot when the lights flare/strobe onto the face. Also most of them had atleast moderate photoshopping afterwards to tweek the levels up and get them as vibrant as possible.

The band asked for no flash to be used infront of the barriers, a guy from metal hammer got told to leave by security becuase he was using a flash gun.

That's when you bring a wireless flash, set it up behind the barriers (mount it to a barrier or have a friend hold it) then trigger it with pocketwizards so nobody knows it's coming from your camera :)
