Adobe annouced the release of Photoshop 7.0. You can read the full press release here.

Some of the new features are:

• File Browser to visually browse and retrieve images
  
• Healing Brush to effortlessly remove artifacts such as dust, scratches, blemishes, and wrinkles while preserving shading, lighting, and texture
  
• Password protection to limit access to Photoshop PDF files, helping to secure image integrity
  
• Full compatibility with Mac OS 9 and support for the newest enhancements of Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows XP
  
• Enhanced Liquify (distorting) tool to allow you to view other layers, zoom, pan, and undo multiple steps — even save custom meshes and apply them to other files

Pre-order is coming soon with Photoshop 7.0 shipping in second quater 2002.

Sounds like a bunch of good features in 7.0, wouldn't mind getting my hands on it and playing around. It's nice to see they are catering toward us web developers. I can still remember when I upgraded to 6.0, had to be one of the best days of my life!

Whoa there chris, Settle down now. Dayum, best day of  your life, give me a break.  Photoshop is due for a REAL upgrade. It's been haveing all these little 1 or 2 new feature upgrades since 4->5.  Now THAT was a nice upgrade.
