The net commands are pretty handy for administration I have a refrence sheet that is going to be in the same place for all the net commands.
But specifically for net send
C:\>Net Send trainingpc1 what is up
the PC named TrainingPC1 will recieve a popup message that says what is up
for * it will try to send it to all available computers
for /Domain you would be able to send that message to a specific domain for example accounting
For /users you would need to specify the users group used in Active Directory
Windows XP by default has net send disabled because of all the spam that was going across the internet using it so if you are planning on using that in your network you will need to set a group policy to enable that in the domain.
