I just thought of a nice addition to DiC. Its a feature called Multilanguage Snippets. The concept is simple. Say we have a snippet called "Median", the user can go to the snippet like normal and it will be shown in a random "entered" language. There is also a dropdown box that says its also available in other languages. Once the user selects a new language, the snippet is changed to the selected language.

So sort of like the related threads feature, only for snippets? I think this is a good idea. However, the snippets section is a patch-together job, so I'm not sure how easy this would be to implement.

Google Translator has an API doesn't it? This could be implemented on things like variable names (of course multiword variable names would have to be split and rejoined) and comments, so that non-native english speakers could potentially understand the snippet, but essential things like "for" and "while" in the while loops would have to be ignored so that the language constructs are not broken. However, this also shows that DIC supports multiple languages, while we say in rule #2:
"Use proper English. Correct grammar and spelling is required."
So it might send mixed messages for certain users of the site.

Yes, thats a good way to do that, but I'm afraid you misunderstood me and its my fault. Let me restate my idea.
We have the same snippet, that does the exact same thing, in different languages like C# and Python. My idea is to have "one" page for that snippet and have a little drop down that lets you view the snippet in the selected "programming" language. Of course, that requires some people to translate language A to language B and so on.

Oh...that's far different than I thought...I like the idea! Nice going!

Maybe this can be worked into the next DiC version.

OK, I know this is an old topic but I found the perfect example for this.
http://www.dreaminco...snippet5856.htm , http://www.dreaminco...snippet5848.htm and http://www.dreaminco...snippet5806.htm . The same snippet but in different languages.
