Problems with windows...

Ubuntu (fast;small;mini debian) + kernel qemu support + qemu + 4 gb hdd for windows.

I do reinstall my Os, but because after drinktogether I fail to remember passwords. But other then that i see no point why to.

I do use rooter, and usually its between CPU and internet, but as nothing troubles Linux is short wire it sometimes.

------------
But 3 years back my older sister complained that she CPU is kinda slow, and acting strangely. I download & run ad_aware, it found 18 374 errors... i could not stop laughing for about 5 minutes. :D

I havent ran Antivirus or software firewalls on my machines for a long time. I wanted to try out this ClamWin Antivirus, I installed it and it hasn't found anything from all of that time I ran wide open.

Now I'm going to uninstall it and run wide open again. However for those who are interested in a free antivirus solution, ClamWin is pretty nice.

Ok fine run without it but i guarrentee you your system will run much better with it than without. I never used to have antivirus i ran wide open for a while until someone started hacking into my email and internet banking accounts and the reason your programs won't be picking it up is because they are free versions. Try a paid one. My system runs 1000 times better with anti-virus than it ever did without and if you do online banking or use you credit card i can tell you someone has your details.

The amount of attacks on PC's everyday is enormous. Telling me that you can remove it manually is just bull cause they leave signatures like any program. That is what an anti-virus does remove the signatures as well. Enjoy your virus riffen op systems but for those of you that have firewalls thats ok cause you will prob be fine.

If by better you mean waste CPU cycles that would be better spent playing my music collection, then yes, it would be better.

Beng, you're showing an extreme lack of respect to those who know what they are talking about as well as a healthy lack of knowledge of how certain things like networking and Window's work.

Beng, i don't think you've said a single thing yet that's remotely correct or even close to the reality of how things really work. do us all a favor and stop talking out of your asshole.

some of the people you've decided to butt heads with in this topic do this kind of work for a living, yet you continue to defy logic and assume you have an ounce of knowledge in this area.

i used to clean install once a year or so over the summer so i'd be good for school in the fall, but it was too much of a pain. With regular updates and monitoring and i've been good on this one for almost 2 years now, without any slow down :)
I used to run firewalls and all, but it slows my comp down a lot, i just do regular port checks and compare them to previous checks and run an AV at all times (that uses little memory) Avast.
Average install time is 1HR for OS and drivers and depending on your program list, another hour or two for the rest of the software.
