I like the 83, it was simple, yet advanced enough to do what I wanted. The 84 is really just a memory bump up from that with a few added graphing functions from what I've seen.

I spend most of Algebra II writing games on my calculator or my friends' calculators out of boredom. Made a shooting game on my TI-83 during the few weeks we reviewed just about everything we learned the previous year.

LOL! I like your notes neo.
I actually keep my stat notes in my wallet as a goodluck charm because hell, it was luck I passed, lol.
I got Mu and sigma (standard deviation) and "bernoulli - what an asshole he was"
and
compute probably density function...............ermmmmmmmm.

The 89 has some pretty badass functionality. I've yet to do any programming on it or anything.

It took me days of RTFM on the 83 to figure it out! x__x Every time my boss hands me his 89 I explode.

RTFM
Didn't say I COULDN'T figure it out, said I hadn't had time. To me, reading the manual would be implied in "figuring it out." Trouble is, I'm driven by need, and it's usually quicker to, for example, solve a system of equations on paper, then to figure out (ie look up in the manual) how to input them all and make the calc do it.
