What music do you code to?

Posted 26 October 2010 - 05:53 AM

What music do you guys generally code to? I like listening to smooth jazz songs, they just let the code flow. :P

For example, I love listening to the Nujabes:
http://listen.groove...ujabes/23549923

I also like listening to the Samurai Champloo OST (made by Nujabes as well):
http://listen.groove...an+Dance/2Bydlx

Also a great station to listen to while coding is SomaFM's GrooveSalad:

Edit: AH! I forgot! I also love listening to this guy right here, damn genius: Chopin
http://listen.groove...Raindrops/v01Ie

Well, that's what I code to. What about you? Provide links if possible! :D

I varies... and I sometimes listen to the same thing over and over until I get tired of hearing it. Also I don't listen to lyrics very much... actually never.

The past few months have been a mixture of:

Eminem - latest 2 albums
Lady Gaga - I don't know why, been listening to it for 3 weeks now. I actually like it... which I found odd.
Peter Gabriel - can't beat the tower that ate people.
Billy Joel - a staple of my listening habits
Skinny Puppy - and other good ol' industrial sprinkled in

I also put on audio books and the sort on occasion. I recently re listened to all of David Sedaris's work, as well as a couple of Augusten Burroughs.

Before this selection of music. Merely swap Eminem and Lady Gaga with:

RJD2 - mrmmmm
Adam Freeland - he did this track on Rez for the Dreamcast... liked him ever since
Die Antwoord - it's just adorable...

Depends on the mood. Tool, A Perfect Circle, Evanescence, Rammstein, Laibach, some Manson, some NIN, Type O Negative.
Or Dropkick Murphys, Seven Nations, Gaelic Storm, The Dubliners, The Pogues, The Chieftains, Flogging Molly
Or Iced Earth, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Metallica, Stones, and various classic rock songs
Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, STP
Or simply Cash
Or various electronica/house/techno/europop songs

o_O

Is it you dislike both artists independently and don't like that I like either? Or is that I like both at the same time in the same list, and this evoke some reaction from you?

I'm guessing the latter because of the sobbing. I don't know what the sobbing is all about.

If it's the latter does it make it any better that today I decided it's time for a Leonard Cohen stint.
