Hi guys,
I was browsing Amazon.co.uk recently and found that they were selling Windows 7 Ultimate Full version for £70 instead of £160.
Obviously this offer was a bargain and I decided to look more into it. However, it's not Amazon themselves selling it but their partners. This begs the question; are they genuine?
They claim to be sealed and brand new and with the title saying "Full Version" so I guess it's a retail version.
Here is the link.

Anyone else suspicious?
Cheap Windows 7, is it genuine?

Well, there isn't really a way to tell if it's genuine. I typically buy operating systems, or anything with a product key, from places like NewEgg, tigerdirect, and Best Buy. I don't know where you can purchase it in the UK though.

I would think it is genuine, coming from Amazon. I've never heard of Amazon selling products that aren't genuine. They often have some rather good deals like that on everything. I believe part of it is they are about to buy in bulk or get special rates from providers. I would check their return policy, just to be safe.

I am only thinking of buying it as Amazon is a reputable company and I think they'll be fine to refund me if it isn't genuine.

Those aren't direct prices from Amazon, they're other sellers selling THROUGH Amazon. Can't say whether Amazon vouches for the reputation of all of these sellers, but I would be suspicious, as you apparently were. Contact Amazon about it.

Thanks for the replies.
I have checked the reviews and one person got sold a bad license key from one of the buyers. He got in touch with Amazon and they refunded him even though he bought it from one of the listed sellers. I guess Amazon have to take the wrap and cover the costs from the seller. The payment is processed by Amazon and not the seller so I guess they have to take some responsibility regarding what they advertise.
